Today, I’ll give you something new to wrap your brain around.
We do not use our heads. It’s a fact, pretty much. We just do not use our heads. We have lost the ability to think for ourselves, and we become lifeless puppets who just dance on strings and do what we’re told. On top of that we are naive. We are totally ready and willing to believe things that we are told, ready and willing to bank on everything that we are being told is the complete truth, and ready and willing to believe that the entire story is being told to us.
If you disagree with this notion, then I ask you why havent we DONE anything. Our government has been horribly corrupt for decades, possibly even as long as its been an organization, and its in the rules that we as a people can take up arms and overthrow them entirely….BUT a coup d’etat hasn’t ever happened. We let the corrupt people root themselves and their ways deeper and deeper and you sit there and allow yourself to be controlled.
Think about it for just a second and a half. It was said that the rate that technology grows twice as fast as it did before every time there is a new revelation. And this holds pretty true, because I’m sure if you spend a good 500 U.S. dollars on a ridiculously powerful video card for your PC, something will come out in a couple months that makes your bad assed video card obsolete. It holds true for plenty of things. I’m into gaming, so I’ll go to my interests for a quick example:
The Playstation 2 game console dropped in the last quarter of the year 2000. Four years later the PS2 had a makeover, it was streamlined and compacted. Another 2 years after that, the Playstation 3 drops. In 4 years, the system was streamlined. In another 2 years, the system was obsolete. Thats proof for you right there that every time there is a revelation, technology moves twice as fast.
Now ask yourself a couple of things. What year was Dolly the Sheep cloned? Try and remember the first time you heard a single thought about the electric car. Dolly was 1996. The very first electric car, crude though it was, was invented way back in 1832. Think about how different technology as a whole was back then. 1996 was just a bit over 10 years ago, and think back about how different technology was back then. Fast forward to today. In 96, people had cellphones the size of bricks, and carried pagers. Today, a cellphone does so much shit that you almost forget that the damn thing can call your friends.
We still drive around in cars that are powered by fossil fuels. Everyday life for human beings is indeed terracide. We power our vehicles, and ride around on our daily commutes being powered by the burning blood of the earth, and the byproducts make her sick. We are among an energy crisis in a time years after we have proven that we dont need to use what we need to make energy, to make energy. Why do we still power our oversized cars, our homes, our everything with what we do when we have clearly discovered other ways to do things. Why?
Because we just do what we’re told.
We live by the creed of freedom and opprutunity. We are so all about freedom that we build a huge fence to keep our neighbors out of our free country. We are so all about freedom that you cant say what you want about our leader without being completely blacklisted and basically dissappearing. We are so all about freedom that you have to drink up that flouride in your tap water without having a choice to -not- have it in your tap water. You want clean water? Go pay for it. They keep it in bottles and tell you its pure. I’ll be god damned if I believe even for a second that Aquafina or whatever choice of bottled water you make is pure water. If I want pure water all that bad I’ll drink it distilled.
Take a second and read that evian label from right to left. What word is that again? They’re poking fun at you because you wont take those two seconds to actually USE that grey matter in between your ears.
All because we just do what we’re told.
What we need is another renissance. Another wave of great thinkers. When’s the last time someone was revered because they were THAT smart? Because they were THAT wise. Its something that we read about in history books but theres nothing tangible there for us to fall back on. No more innovation in the way of the world. We are gripped, suffocated by shroud of censorship. We are killed when we know too much. Why is it that information in any form ends up classified. What is it that we dont know that we probably should. Why are things kept from us just because it is assumed that we “just dont need to know”
More importantly why dont we do something about it?
We just do what we’re told. Nothing more.
Romanticide
Apr 11th
If I were to utter the word ‘Romanticide’ to say…a linguist, I would more than likely get a response that goes something like:
“That is NOT a word.”
We’re going to start here. What is it that defines a word? Luckily for me, I have a dictionary.
Word:
1: a: something that is said (1): talk, discourse (2): the text of a vocal musical composition c: a brief remark or conversation word with you
2: a (1): a speech sound or series of speech sounds that symbolizes and communicates a meaning usually without being divisible into smaller units capable of independent use
(2): the entire set of linguistic forms produced by combining a single base with various inflectional elements without change in the part of speech elements
b (1): a written or printed character or combination of characters representing a spoken word words to a line —sometimes used with the first letter of a real or pretended taboo word prefixed as an often humorous euphemism word on British TV — Time and talk about death — Erma Bombeck
(2): any segment of written or printed discourse ordinarily appearing between spaces or between a space and a punctuation mark c: a number of bytes processed as a unit and conveying a quantum of information in communication and computer work
3: order, command
4: often capitalized a: logos b: gospel 1a c: the expressed or manifested mind and will of God
5 a:news, information word that he would be late b:rumor
6: the act of speaking or of making verbal communication
7: saying, proverb
8:promise, declaration
9: a quarrelsome utterance or conversation —usually used in plural words and parted
10: a verbal signal : password
11: slang —used interjectionally to express agreement
Now that’s pretty extensive. Although I am partial to number 11, we’re not dealing with 11 definitions of the word with where I’m going. Let’s pay attention to the first two. Romanticide is most certainly something that can be said. If you don’t believe me, I’ll post a voice record of me saying it. Plenty of definition 2 ties into definition 1. 2a, ties in with definition one. A speech sound or series of speech sounds, definitely sounds like something that can be said. Romanticide is made up of a group of written or printed characters. And if you are using decent english, you are following up Romanticide with some punctuation.
So so far, it looks like Romanticide is most certainly a word. The meaning of the word is pretty straightforward, too. The -cide suffix denotes an act related to killing. The definition of romance is:
Romance:
1: (1): a medieval tale based on legend, chivalric love and adventure, or the supernatural
(2): a prose narrative treating imaginary characters involved in events remote in time or place and usually heroic, adventurous, or mysterious
(3): a love story especially in the form of a novel b: a class of such literature
2: something (as an extravagant story or account) that lacks basis in fact
3: an emotional attraction or aura belonging to an especially heroic era, adventure, or activity
4: love affair
5: capitalized : the Romance languages
This time, I’m looking to one piece of the definition in particular, and that one is 3. Definition 3 makes me think of the word Passion. Which brings me to what romanticide means.
Romanticide: The killing of passion, or a substance that kills this function.
So there we have it. You can say it. You can spell it. You can read it in the characters drawn up for you on my blog. And as far as I’m concerned, it has a meaning.
From this day forth, romanticide is a word, and let no man tell you otherwise.
